Simple Heart
03:24
|
|
||
I picked a wishing weed
Beneath your mother's tree
And I asked it to
Bring you back to me
Then a dragonfly took it to the sky
And it rode on the wind
Until it caught your eye
I'm never gonna get over you
I'm never gonna get over you
You know it's true that
That I'm gonna get ya back if its
If it's the only thing I do
I'm never gonna get over you
I took the secret path
To where I saw you last
And a sparrow dropped
A letter to me as it passed
It was a simple heart it was dressed in red
When I opened it
all it said was
I'm never gonna get over you
I'm never gonna get over you
You know it's true that
That I'm gonna get ya back if its
If it's the only thing I do
I'm never gonna get over you

Listen to the Rain
02:50
|
|
||
Outside in the park
Watching the world go by
She was an angel to me
She set me free
Dark clouds are rolling in
Everyone is going inside
The light begins to fade
I hear that sound again
Listen to the rain
All the things it can say
Dripping through the trees
All the notes it can play
When you're in trouble and you're feeling the strain
Listen to the rain
Its 3am I can sleep again
Just thinking about you and how you’re not here
You're lying there on your own
Thinking do I risk picking up the phone
Then you hear it
That familiar sound again
Listen to the rain
All the things it can say
Dripping through the trees
All the notes it can play
When you're in trouble and you're feeling the strain
Listen to the rain
Listen to the rain
All the things it can say
Dripping through the trees
All the notes it can play
When you're in trouble and you're feeling the strain
Listen to the rain
Listen to the rain
All the things it can say
All the notes it will play
If you’r in trouble and your feeling the strain
All you gotta do is
Listen to the rain

Winter
05:34

The roads are closed no one's getting nowhere
They say it's just winter but it ain't fair
I grab my coat and my thick soled shoes
An make my way out to the winter blues
The lights are dim and the snow is fallin’
The ground is cold and the wind is howlin
The temperature’s dropped and me whiskers are frozen
I’m traveling along on my journey…
In the winter
It’s dark and dank with no one in sight
I’m sure my layered figure would give someone a fright
There are tire marks in the road’s but they lead nowhere
Maybe they walked and they’ll meet me there
The lights are dim and the snow is fallin’
The ground is cold and the wind is howlin
The temperature’s dropped and me whiskers are frozen
I’m traveling along on my journey…
In the winter
I traverse across well known ground
My friends should all be there by now
The ice may try and slow me down
I ain't givin up I'll get there somehow
I see the lights and they’re getting brighter
I can hear the sounds of warmth and laughter
As I step over the heath I stamp my boots on the doormat
I have made it on my journey
Through the winter
Familiar faces are all around
Family and friends from all year round
A pint of the good stuff sat waiting for me
Hustle and bustle where I want to be
The warmth inside melts the ice around my toes
The hearty meal is what I needed to warm my bones
I feel at home with my family and friends
This is how I manage to get by
In the winter

Tired Eyes
05:16

Turn down the lights, babe
Put your eyes to bed
Slip into a, dream
Forget about the fight inside your head
Be that someone you used to be
Not that person you think we need
I can feel the darkness as its surrounding you
That smile that I used to know, now it’s gone
And I’m here to comfort you
And I need you to be strong
Turn down the lights, babe
Put your eyes to bed
Slip into a, dream
Forget about the fight inside your head
Be that someone you used to be
Not that person you think we need
Things seem better now the help is here
It’s back like things used to be, just you and me
And I see that light is back
And I’m so glad you’re home
Turn down the lights, babe
Put your eyes to bed
Slip into a, dream
Forget about the fight inside your head
Be that someone you used to be
Not that person you think we need
(acapella)
Turn down the lights, babe
Put your eyes to bed
Slip into my, arms
Forget about that fight inside your head
You are that someone you used to be
You are right where you need to be

Dole Line
02:44
|
|
||
We were sent away from our jobs today
We walk out with our heads held high
We don’t care about the who what when or why
We just care about making next week's rent
And were standing in the dole line being turned away
being told to try again another day
So the government has screwed us over again
Always looking after number one instead
We wont make the same mistakes again
The country's gone to hell again
The youths are wrecking up the streets again
and they’ll go to jail for stealing a handful of penny sweets
and there ain’t nothing we can do about it
And were standing in the dole line being turned away
being told to try again another day
So the government has screwed us over again
Always looking after number one instead
We got some new jobs today
We walked out with our heads held high
we did not care about the who what when or why
We know were gonna make next week's rent
