The roads are closed no one's getting nowhere
They say it's just winter but it ain't fair
I grab my coat and my thick soled shoes
An make my way out to the winter blues
The lights are dim and the snow is fallin’
The ground is cold and the wind is howlin
The temperature’s dropped and me whiskers are frozen
I’m traveling along on my journey…
In the winter
It’s dark and dank with no one in sight
I’m sure my layered figure would give someone a fright
There are tire marks in the road’s but they lead nowhere
Maybe they walked and they’ll meet me there
The lights are dim and the snow is fallin’
The ground is cold and the wind is howlin
The temperature’s dropped and me whiskers are frozen
I’m traveling along on my journey…
In the winter
I traverse across well known ground
My friends should all be there by now
The ice may try and slow me down
I ain't givin up I'll get there somehow
I see the lights and they’re getting brighter
I can hear the sounds of warmth and laughter
As I step over the heath I stamp my boots on the doormat
I have made it on my journey
Through the winter
Familiar faces are all around
Family and friends from all year round
A pint of the good stuff sat waiting for me
Hustle and bustle where I want to be
The warmth inside melts the ice around my toes
The hearty meal is what I needed to warm my bones
I feel at home with my family and friends
This is how I manage to get by
In the winter
